Bodycare Stores

Leyland, Lancashire

Bodycare Stores, of Leyland in Lancashire has completed an overhaul of its retail stores, replacing over 13,000 low voltage MR16 halogen lamps (bulbs) with LED equivalents.
The company started to investigate LED as a cost saving initiative in 2011, but the range and variety of LED products available was immense. When Lumenata Lighting Design got involved with the project, they were able to recommend several products with various cost:benefit ratios.
The preferred product was then tested in the comany's Chorley Store to evaluate the effect this modern light source has on how the products are displayed on the shelf. It is essential that sales of products do not suffer by installing this modern, energy saving light source.
Once the whole of the Chorley store had been converted, the decision was made to implement this initiative throughout the 100+ stores operated by Bodycare.
Daniel Blackledge, a Director of Bodycare, has since commented, as follows:
'Bodycare endeavours to be as green a company as possible.
Working in partnership with Lumenata, we have reduced our CO2 emissions by over 1,000 tonnes per year.
Also, there are large cost savings in terms of energy consumption and maintenance bills which can be invested in lower prices for our customers.
Lumenata are a delight to work with and I would recommend them to anyone'
