Shannon’s Mill in Walsall is a multi purpose development comprising a major grocery store, town centre apartments and a public multi storey car park. Our customer, a major M&E contractor, instructed Lumenata Lighting Design Ltd to produce a lighting design for the car park that provided the specified light levels with the minimum number of lights. Using this approach had significant cost savings as the number of light fittings purchased could be minimised, as could the cost of installing the light fittings and there would be significant on-going savings to the end customer as the energy consumed when lighting the scheme is also minimised.
Using Lumenata Lighting Design Ltd, the customer was able to optimise the number of light fittings required and achieved the required savings three fold. While this is not the most glamorous of projects, we feel that it demonstrates that even a project such as the humble car park can seriously benefit from professional lighting design and who better to provide this than Lumenata Lighting Design Ltd – taking light seriously.
