The Piccadilly office development is a six storey development of fully serviced offices. Our customer, a predominant property developer in this field, needed something to set his development apart from the other similar offerings in this highly competitive city centre market and therefore asked us to assist the interior designer on the scheme. Although we were initially called in to provide a stunning lighting design for the reception area, Lumenata Lighting Design Ltd was soon commissioned to design and supply the lights for the entire project. There were various ways that using Lumenata Lighting Design benefited the project, as follows:

• With over 300 office light fittings needed, it was important to use the correct office light fitting in terms of looks, energy consumption, unit cost and installation cost. Our design team proposed a shortlist of luminaires and provided design information for each option that optimised the number of lights needed to illuminate the offices to the required level of 400 lux. The customer’s final option provided the levels of light needed, while consuming only 66% of the power and at only 50% of the cost of the products originally proposed for the project.
  
  
• In addition to the functional lighting in the offices, Lumenata Lighting Design Ltd provided the lighting for the rest of the complex, with an eye on energy consumption and costs. LED lighting was used were possible due to the advantages of low energy consumption and low maintenance due to extended lamp life.
  
  
• In certain cases where the correct lights were not commercially available, we commissioned one of our Italian suppliers to manufacture lights that would meet the requirements of light output, lighting effect, luminaire aesthetics and budgetary constraints.

Within a week of showing perspective tenants the offices, our customer had received positive feedback on the lighting, with potential clients commenting that this particular development was far lighter and brighter compared to the other complexes they had visited in the centre of Manchester, which appeared gloomy in comparison.
